MonsterMaps is een app en website van BookingMonster B.V., De Nering 10-1, 8355 DK Giethoorn, Nederland. Met MonsterMaps volg je vaar-, wandel- en fietsroutes van het verhuurbedrijf waar je een ticket van hebt. Dit beleid beschrijft welke gegevens we daarbij verwerken en waarom.

Welke gegevens verwerken we

• Ticketcode. De code van je ticket (uit de QR-code of handmatig ingevoerd) wordt gebruikt om de routes en bezienswaardigheden van jouw verhuurbedrijf op te halen. De app bewaart de code op je toestel zodat je hem niet opnieuw hoeft te scannen.
• Positie tijdens de route. Als je daarvoor toestemming geeft, gebruikt de app je locatie om je positie op de kaart te tonen en de afstand tot de routes te berekenen. Tijdens het gebruik stuurt de app je positie periodiek naar onze server, gekoppeld aan een willekeurig sessienummer, niet aan je naam of account. Zonder toestemming werkt de app ook; dan zie je alleen je positie niet.
• Camera. Alleen om de QR-code van je ticket te scannen. Er worden geen foto's of beelden opgeslagen of verzonden.
• Voorkeuren. Taal, gekozen startpunt en de eenheid (kilometer of mijl) worden op je toestel bewaard.

Er is geen account nodig. We verzamelen geen naam, e-mailadres of telefoonnummer via de app, tonen geen advertenties en gebruiken geen tracking van derden.

Waarvoor en hoe lang

Positiegegevens gebruiken we voor crowdmanagement: inzicht in drukte op routes, zodat verhuurders en de omgeving drukte kunnen spreiden. We bewaren ze zolang dat daarvoor nodig is en maximaal 1 jaar. De ticketcode en je voorkeuren blijven op je toestel tot je ze wist of de app verwijdert.

Met wie delen we gegevens

• Hosting. Onze servers draaien bij Google Cloud in de Europese Unie (regio Nederland).
• Kaarten. De kaartbeelden komen van OpenTopoMap (gebaseerd op OpenStreetMap). Bij het laden van de kaart ontvangt die dienst, zoals bij elke website, je IP-adres en de opgevraagde kaartdelen.
• Het verhuurbedrijf van je ticket ziet geaggregeerde drukte-informatie, geen individuele personen.

We verkopen geen gegevens en delen niets anders met derden, tenzij de wet dat vereist.

Je rechten

Je hebt recht op inzage, correctie en verwijdering van je gegevens, en je kunt bezwaar maken tegen de verwerking. Omdat positiegegevens alleen aan een willekeurig sessienummer gekoppeld zijn, kunnen we je vragen om de ticketcode en het tijdstip van gebruik om je gegevens terug te vinden. Toestemming voor locatie en camera kun je altijd intrekken in de instellingen van je toestel. Klachten kun je ook indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

MonsterMaps Privacy Policy

MonsterMaps is an app and website by BookingMonster B.V., De Nering 10-1, 8355 DK Giethoorn, the Netherlands. MonsterMaps lets you follow boating, walking and cycling routes offered by the rental company that issued your ticket. This policy explains which data we process and why.

What we process

• Ticket code. The code on your ticket (scanned from the QR code or typed in) is used to fetch the routes and points of interest of your rental company. The app stores the code on your device so you do not have to scan it again.
• Position during the route. With your permission, the app uses your location to show your position on the map and to calculate the distance to the routes. While in use, the app periodically sends your position to our server, linked to a random session identifier, not to your name or an account. The app also works without this permission; you just will not see your own position.
• Camera. Only to scan the QR code on your ticket. No photos or images are stored or sent.
• Preferences. Language, chosen starting point and the unit (kilometres or miles) are stored on your device.

No account is required. We do not collect names, e-mail addresses or phone numbers through the app, show no advertising and use no third-party tracking.

Purpose and retention

Position data is used for crowd management: understanding how busy routes are so that rental companies and the area can spread visitors. We keep it as long as needed for that purpose and for at most one year. The ticket code and your preferences stay on your device until you clear them or uninstall the app.

Who we share data with

• Hosting. Our servers run on Google Cloud in the European Union (Netherlands region).
• Maps. Map imagery comes from OpenTopoMap (based on OpenStreetMap). When the map loads, that service receives your IP address and the requested map tiles, as with any website.
• Your rental company sees aggregated crowd information, never individual people.

We do not sell data and share nothing else with third parties unless required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data and to object to processing. Because position data is linked only to a random session identifier, we may ask for your ticket code and the time of use to locate your data. You can withdraw location and camera permission at any time in your device settings. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
